Listen to Hear

A Blueprint for Connection

You can take all the lessons from every trainer, attend every clinic, watch every TikTok, and read every book on technique—but somehow, you and your horse are still stuck looping instead of loping. Never really getting anywhere—out of the corral, over a jump, or through that scary puddle.

I get it!

We all come to horsemanship for different reasons. Some are obsessed with mastering the body-mind skill of riding, others are driven by the thrill of competition, and some just feel an undeniable pull toward the equine experience—a quiet call to be near horses.

This is for you

Get to know a little more about me here

We ask. tell. demand. But are we listening?

Horses live in OUR world. I think they put up with us pretty darn well! Over the course of my lifetime with horses I admit I spent alot of time focusing on what I can teach THEM… how could I make them understand ME more effectively.

But somewhere along that timeline, I came to realize that beyond the “training techniques” and the “systems” and “games” is a lexicon that is the language of horses. Horses have been refining their language for something like 5500 years!

Consider this:

  • Horses have their own sensory experience of the 3D completely different from our own.

  • Horses live in an almost entirely non-verbal world.

  • When horses do communicate- both to each other and to us- it is based on body language and intention/energy.

  • There is no other human\domestic animal connection we can compare to that between a horse and a human- communicating silently through body-body, brain-brain.

Horses are the greatest teachers.

All we have to do is listen.

I believe that you and I- who are fortunate enough to share time and space with horses- have a real duty to honor, understand, and most importantly inner-stand horses. This begins with learning this what many would call telepathic, nonverbal physical language so they can truly be heard.

UPCOMING EVENTS

The goal with this series is to help clear away the noise—the assumptions and ingrained habits in both your mind and body—so you can respond more effectively to what your horse is communicating. These clinics will incorporate groundwork and riding.

Whether on the ground or in the saddle, horses possess a profound somatic intelligence, sensing and responding to the subtlest shifts in energy and touch. In some ways, you could say they are telepathic—highly sensitive, attuned creatures—which requires us, as horsepeople, to cultivate a high level of both intuitive and somatic awareness.

Sometimes we’re fully tapped into that intuitive flow—we just know what’s happening beneath us or in front of us. Other times, our egos get in the way, clouding that connection. This series is about quieting that noise, tapping into our bodies and minds, and learning to listen more deeply.

I created this series—and what I call The Laws of Equus that I’ll share within it—to help us filter out our big ideas of how it “should be”, rewire our physical or mental blocks, and instead let our horses’ feedback truly enter our awareness.

That said, this isn’t some woo-woo horse girl magic. My work is grounded in science, energy, and body and mind awareness practices—combined with real, time-tested, no-BS horsemanship that will make you a better, more effective rider.

Who This is For

This series is a game-changer for anyone looking to deepen their horsemanship and connection with their horse. If you want to increase your confidence and break through the mental and physical blocks holding you back, this is for you.

It’s designed for riders of all disciplines and levels—beginner to advanced.

  • Beginners will see their riding improve and their confidence skyrocket.

  • Advanced riders who feel stuck—or dare I say, bored—will discover new ways of listening to their horse that go beyond techniques and fancy movements. You’ll learn how to communicate more clearly, making things click for your horse faster and more effectively.

You can ride in any saddle you prefer, though most participants will likely use a Western saddle. Many fundamental dressage concepts will be woven into the work.

Making Contact

Sunday April 13 9AM- 3PM

Primo Tapia, Baja Calfornia

Any rider knows how important a balanced and independent seat, legs, and hands are. But we often forget that our mind and intention are equally powerful aids in communicating with our horses. We will explore practices that will help you really define ALL of these very important aids.

This workshop is not just about riding—it’s about becoming attuned to your horse (the Law of One) in a way you never have before. When we dive into the science and art of riding, we find that horses truly do give us wings to fly.

Lets gather for a deep dive into the Law of One which encompasses the art and science of making contact with the aids- in hand and undersaddle. We will discover the use of your body as well as your mind and energy as languages of communication.

LAWS OF THE HERD

Sunday May 18 9AM- 3PM

TBD, Baja Calfornia

Horses are prey animals deeply tapped into their herd instincts. It’s their blueprint for survival.

When we inner-stand this dynamic, real true magic happens and we can make huge strides(yes, pun intended)!

By observing and respecting the Law of the Herd, you’ll learn to lead with confidence while honoring our horse’s needs. Understanding where your horse fits into the herd unlocks a deeper level of trust for both of you.

We will spend time observing herds in real time with hands on practice. This clinic will be also focus on mindset, beliefs, and the difference between power and force. By observing the Law of Least Effort, we will see practice release, rewards, positive and negative reinforcement and impeccable timing are all rooted in the language of the horse.

If you’ve never studied Pavlov’s Dog, this is the retreat for you- your horse will thank you!
